The female was looking up at me, with her head on one side. This is intended as another female portrait, along with the mallard, although the male eider is so very eye-catching, she was catching my eye this time. Oil on canvas, 42 x 32cm.
I am working towards my next exhibition as part of a larger exhibition of the Creative Cairngorms group. Glass artist Anne Bridgen and I are working on the themes of birds and landscapes for our joint display. My work will include new drawings and paintings and one or two mixed media pieces, all of which are based on observation, sketches or photographs I have made when out and about.
The exhibition runs from 7th – 15th November 2015 at The Iona Gallery, Kingussie, in the Cairngorms National Park. Further details to follow.
