Inspired by observations and impressions of specific places experienced, I aim to convey my passionate interest in the natural environment and wildlife in my paintings. My work tells a story or records a moment that I have experienced. I have been lucky to have lived and worked in several wild and beautiful places around the UK including the Highlands of Scotland, Gloucestershire Cotswolds, Somerset, Mid Wales and the Norfolk fens. My husband is a bird ecologist, so we have migrated between bird hotspots. I am now based in the East Neuk of Fife, near St Andrews.
My early working life and training as a textile and surface designer has given me a love of colour and pattern as well as drawing and painting skills. I have been an artist in residence for a school, a pub, a walled garden and a bird observatory. In 2016 I was Artist in Residence at the RZSS Highland Wildlife Park, and in 2019, Artist in Residence at Cambo Gardens, Kingsbarns in Fife. I was awarded a Creative Scotland/Scottish Natural Heritage project; ‘Imagining Natural Scotland’ in 2013/14 and I took part in the first Findhorn Bay Arts Festival in 2014. I am a committee member of the East Neuk Open Studios group and exhibit at The Pittenweem Art Festival. I’m very fortunate to have a number of collectors both in the Uk and overseas. I sell originals, giclee prints, and cards online if you would like to get in touch using the contact page. I also sell locally in the East Neuk and St Andrews.
